Gary is cutting a replacement 'way sheet' from new stock. There are two
way sheets in the valve motion area between the first and second drivers,
and they provide support between the
boiler brackets and the frame. photo credit David G. Peterson |

Randy uses the hard grinder to dress up the rough
cut edges of the newly formed way sheet. This part can be seen on the
#2719 Specifications Page
in the profile drawing of the left side. The way sheet is the thin line
between the boiler and the frame, directly above the equalizing
lever, between the first and second drivers.
