| The following is a series of photos taken in December of 1999 in preparation of the replacement of the drivers. Gene Dahlstrom was the photographer that captured these unique images. |
|
Here the driver assembly sits all aligned and waiting for the turntable to
arrive into position.
|

|
The driving boxes are mounted upon the journal surfaces
on the axles. The driving boxes have scrap pipe welded between each
other to prevent them from shifting during the movement of the drivers. |

| Looking at the underside of #2719, we can see the pedestal mount
for the lead engine truck, the small eliptical shape in the center of the
photo.
|

| A nice view of the left side details. The frame; the
numbers L1, L2, and L3 driver pedestal jaw openings; the new valve frame assembly
at center-left; the re-hung equalizer hangers and springs; and the air-pump mounting studs at upper right-center.
|

| Finally the lead engine truck on the turntable, out
of the way of the action. Notice the frost on the turntable deck.
