Dave, one of our multi-talented CVRR members,
constructed this general-purpose
maintenance vehicle from the literal ashes of another self-propelled track car.
Dave fabricated a new tubular frame which now includes sprung axles. This is quite an improvment over the previous model. The deck consists of polished safety-tread material. The drive-train incorporates a 5-horsepower gasoline engine connected to a variable-speed hydraulic chain-drive system. Other improvements include more air circulation for cooling, a hinged seat for easier access to the engine and drive-train, and stronger frame & deck assemblies for greater load carrying capacity. Simple, light-weight, fast, and powerful. This vehicle is built to last for many years and will see lots of service in track maintenance. |
